ZHGAS Invited to Present Keynote Report at China International Coal Gasification Conference (CICGC)​

On September 10, the 2020 (4th) China International Coal Gasification Conference (CICGC)​, co-hosted by Jinmei Group and Coal Chemical Connect, commenced in Jincheng, Shanxi. Over 100 industry experts and scholars gathered to discuss innovations in coal gasification technology and promote the healthy growth of modern coal chemical industries. CAS Hefei Gasification Technology Co., Ltd.(hereinafter referred to as ZHGAS) was invited to attend the event.

Over 100 industry experts and scholars gathered to discuss innovations in coal gasification technology and promote the healthy growth of modern coal chemical industries. On the afternoon of September 10, Liu Jiapeng, Chief Engineer of ZHGAS, delivered a keynote speech titled “Innovative Applications of ZHGAS’s Circulating Fluidized Bed Coal Gasification (CFBCG) Technology” at the “Coal Gasification Technology Innovation & Operational Optimization” forum. He explored the future of gasification innovation, advanced coal clean utilization, and industrial applications to support national energy restructuring and expand the clean energy sector.

In his presentation, Liu Jia peng highlighted ZHGAS’s R&D and industrialization achievements in coal gasification. Focusing on the CGAS technology’s core strengths, he detailed its applications in synthetic ammonia production and industrial gas supply, supported by case studies such as:

 

  • l Guizhou Hongsheng CGAS Project

  • l Xinjiang Yihua Coal Gasification Project

  • l Jiangsu Delong CGAS Project

 

He also introduced an integrated solution combining CGAS Coal Gasification with residual carbon treatment. For high-carbon fly ash generated during gasification, ZHGAS’s Fly Ash Preheating Gasification Technology or Fly Ash residual Carbon Combustion Technology can convert unburned carbon into syngas or high-pressure steam, improving energy efficiency while delivering environmental and economic benefits.

In response to the requirement stated in the "Comprehensive Management Plan for Atmospheric Pollution from Industrial Furnaces and Kilns"(jointly issued in 2019 by China’s Ministry of Ecology and Environment,National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), and Ministry of Finance) that "for nitrogen fertilizer and related industries using fixed-bed intermittent coal gasifiers, the transition from direct water washing to indirect cooling for gas cooling shall be accelerated, Liu Jia peng emphasized ZHGAS’s indirect cooling technology for retrofitting fixed-bed gasifiers. By integrating cyclone pre-dust removal, dry dust collection, and indirect cooling, this system resolves wastewater pollution from direct water scrubbing while recovering coal dust.As a National High-Tech Enterprise, ZHGAS consistently aligns innovation with industrial needs.Through technology integration,system optimization,and market-driven engineering, the company provides technical solutions for clean, efficient, low-carbon coal chemical development, accelerating the transformation of R&D into productivity and fostering sustainable industry growth.

Jin Yong, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Professor at Tsinghua University

Liu Ke, Foreign Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering, Dean of SUSTech’s Clean Energy Research Institute

Discussions spanned gasification technology innovation, anthracite gasification under new regulatory frameworks, and equipment localization.
