2026-05-14
Recently, CAS Hefei Coal Gasification Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “ZHGAS”) officially signed an EPC general contracting agreement for gasifiers and their supporting auxiliary equipment with Inner Mongolia Xinlian Aluminum Co., Ltd. This marks another landmark project undertaken by ZHGAS in the alumina industry and represents the company’s 13th project applying circulating fluidized bed coal gasification technology in the aluminum sector.

The project is located in the New Industrial Park of Tumote Right Banner, Baotou City, Inner Mongolia. It will include the construction of a clean gas station to support a 3.5-million-ton-per-year alumina production project. The plan involves building three circulating fluidized bed coal gasifiers, each with a capacity of 80,000 Nm³/h, using locally sourced low-rank coal as feedstock to supply clean fuel gas for two alumina calcination kilns, each with a daily production capacity of 10,000 tons.

As the core technical support for the project, the CGAS circulating fluidized bed coal gasification technology has become a preferred solution for industrial kiln fuel gas in industries such as non-ferrous metallurgy, building materials, and glass manufacturing, thanks to its advantages of economic efficiency, significant energy savings, and environmental friendliness. In recent years, the technology has been successively included in several authoritative national catalogs and platforms, including the Recommended Catalogue of Energy-Saving and Carbon-Reduction Technologies and Equipment in the Industrial and Information Technology Sector, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s First Batch of Advanced and Applicable Technologies Catalogue, the National Eco-Environmental Science and Technology Achievement Transformation Integrated Service Platform, and the “Zero-Waste City” Advanced Applicable Technology List issued by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment. It has also passed evaluations by the Environmental Development Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and technical appraisal by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation. As a nationally recognized and supported clean production technology, it is highly aligned with China’s green development trend for fossil energy utilization.

In recent years, ZHGAS has completed 13 projects in the alumina industry, involving a total of 36 gasifiers, including projects for Sanmenxia Eastern Hope, Beihai Eastern Hope, Indonesia Eastern Hope, Shandong Zhanhua, Xiangjiang Wanki, Longzhou Xinxiang, Luyu Bochuang, Inner Mongolia Kanghong, and the SMB-Winning consortium project in Guinea. These projects cover major alumina production regions in China as well as countries along the Belt and Road Initiative, establishing the company’s leading position in the industry.

The signing of the Inner Mongolia Xinlian project further consolidates ZHGAS’s leading market position in the field of clean fuel gas supply for the alumina industry. The company will continue to uphold its philosophy of “Creating Customer Value Through Innovative Products,” and will support clients in achieving both energy-saving and carbon-reduction goals as well as cost reduction and efficiency improvement through high-standard design, high-quality manufacturing, and high-efficiency service, contributing ZHGAS’s solutions to the green and low-carbon transformation of China’s aluminum industry.
